Come out to Sonar in Baltimore on Saturday April 11th to hear some great live music and help out someone in need! CEK Custom Designs is donating a gift certificate for the silent auction. Hope to see you there!!!

"One of Guitar Center's own, Sean "Spalm" Palm, has fallen on some extremely hard times. He's been on a medical leave of absence since 01-01-09. He suffers from a precursor of Parkinson's Disease as well as seizures that his doctors are having difficulty finding the reasoning behind. Since then his home has gone to foreclosure, his car has been taken, and he's been living in a homeless shelter a short distance from the hospital he visits for testing twice a week. Tickets are available at Guitar Center/Glen Burnie as well as Sonar and we're working on setting up spme sort of account for donations. All ticket proceeds will go directly to Sean. We also have items that will be auctioned off that night, including an autographed Epiphone signature Nikki Sixx bass and an autpgraphed Dunlop signature Slash wah pedal. Bands performing that night include Crash Ink, Black Day Seven, Evolver, and The Carbon Kin. Come out, have a beer, hear some great live music, and support a friend in need. Hope to see you there!"

Making Chainmaille with Patrik Ober

I recently took an awesome one day class on making Chainmalle at Adornment Craft Center and Gallery in Baltimore (http://www.adornment.net/ formerly Made in Metal). The instructor, Patrick Ober, is a fantastic teacher and an extremely talented metalsmith. You can check out his stuff at his etsy shop http://www.armourer.etsy.com/, he has really fabulous pieces! Making chainmaille was a bit harder than I thought it would be, but I was finally able to complete a bracelet (European 4 in 1) that I'm proud of and wear every day. If you've ever been interested in learning how to make Chainmaille, I highly recommend taking a class with Patrick Ober. Contact Adornment for the workshop schedule.

So, I LOVE using dichroic glass in my pmc pieces and up until now I have been getting my dichro cabs from Carolyn Relei (http://www.carolynrelei.com/) she is SO talented. I recently bought a kiln and wanted to try my hand at fusing glass myself and found that it's not so hard to do! Check out my first batch!
